All I could think was, is this what my life has come to?! Dating someone who can’t afford to get a laundry service?

What in the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is going on here?! What went from a hood romance and him defending my friend’s honor quickly turned into this man is unstable AF.

All I heard was “don’t say shit else to her, you can speak directly to me now”. He raised up out of his chair and the whole restaurant got quiet with all eyes on us 👀.

Self-respect overrides any and all expectations. It’s only then will you begin to create healthy boundaries…Off come my glasses and down come his pants? Wait, this is not what I was thinking.

It all started at a church that I visited with my roommate. We were invited by a fellow musician to check out their music ministry and since we were young, wild, and free, we figured going to church would help us redeem ourselves of all of the ratchetness that we had committed the nights before Sunday services.

Why do I have close to 10 messages back to back from this man before 9am? Why is he sending me all these damn lion memes? Is he being super thirsty or does he just not know how to play it cool?

In honor of Friday the 13th I thought I would share a throwback story, circa 2003. I was in high school and in love with my grammar school sweetheart.

Now, my question is since he asked me for some tequila should I buy him some as a parting gift or nah? Lol.

After a year of being single AF (no bf, no situationship, no nuffin) and the pandemic full blown with no end in sight, I decided to give online dating another chance.

After weeks of quarantine binge watching I decided to take some time off from watching TV. If Netflix asked me “are you still watching” one more time I was going to scream!

Our energy has been kind of off since we got back. It’s been about 3 months now since we started talking and hanging out and I am beginning to notice more of his nuances.

So after #Mr.BlackAF surprised me for my birthday by driving cross country to see me I decided I couldn’t let him drive all the way back alone.

Like why must guys be such creeps?! Leave me alone sir! *cues the Jeepers Creepers song* 

I’m gathering my purse and putting my mask back on so we can walk through the restaurant when I get a text.

Y’all Mr. #BlackAF aka Menz 3 just drove cross country 27 HOURS to surprise me for my birthday.

As the champagne kept flowing he began to divulge more and more about how he wanted to wait until he was ready to really pursue me.

This whole situation totally came out of left field and I’m still processing it all.

Now I really just went to have a drink and go on with my evening but I felt a good read building up in my shando.
